Today’s Article:  Brand Implementation: Business Card That Creates Business

A business card needs to be more than how to contact you – it needs to connect with people and inspire them to contact you.

First match your business card up with your pricing strategy. There are three types of pricing strategies: below market, at market and above market. There is also three general types of business cards: one-sided, two-sided and folded.

Below Market Pricing Strategy.  With a below market pricing strategy, your brand is focused on low price. A one-sided business card is all you need. With your contact info, add a short tagline or phrase focused on low price; low price leader, we beat all prices, etc. This connects your brand with low prices.

At Market Pricing Strategy.  With an at market pricing strategy, your brand is focused on added value, more than low price, that a customer desires and is willing to pay a higher price for. Recommend a two-sided business card. The front side is for your contact info with the backside being for your value proposition. If you were in the hotel business, the backside might say:  Stay with us for work, fun and or both. Free high-speed Internet, restaurant, bar on-site, pool with exercise facility, kids stay and eat free. We can’t wait to see you here.

Above Market Pricing Strategy.  With an above market pricing strategy, your brand is focused on prestige, luxury and status that a customer desires and is willing to pay a premium price. Recommend a folded business card. This gives you more spacious room to showcase your brand with copy and rich image(s). Plus a folded business card is not commonly used by most businesses and helps you standout in a positive way.

Connect with Your Business Card
The key to connecting with prospects is understanding who they are, what they want and how you meet their need or desire. Pick the right pricing strategy and the right type of card with the right branded message(s) to attract new customers and keep repeat customers.
