Today’s Article:  Brand Implementation: Use the Right Social Media for the Right Audience

A recent report from Nielsen Research reveals that many consumers have a lower trust for traditional forms of advertising. They found that personal recommendations, online opinion, editorial content and branded websites have the highest trust with consumers.

The biggest mistake that businesses make with social media is treating it like advertising. The first word of social media is social. Focus on building your brand with social media by building a relationship with people not selling to them.

The best way to attract people to your social media is to provide fresh relevant content.  People today want simplicity, clarity and convenience. With each post include a photo and a minimal amount of copy that people like to read, share and respond to.

Match your social media to the business category you market to: business to consumer (B2C), business to business (B2B), or business to government (B2G). Facebook is one of the best for B2C and LinkedIn is one of the best for B2B and B2G.

The second biggest mistake that businesses make with social media is trying to be on too many platforms and not consistently posting fresh relevant content, especially on B2C platforms.

When designing a social media platform do not forget to post fresh relevant content based on what people (demographics and psychographics) enjoy reading. Remember there are three pricing strategies: below market (low price), at market (more value higher price) and above market (luxury, status or prestige).

Connect with the Customer
The key to connecting with new business is understanding who they are, what they want, how you meet their need or desire and what price they are willing to pay. Pick the photos and text with the right branded message(s) to attract new customers and keep repeat customers.

Register Your Name on Social Media Sites

Check  to see if your name is available for the social media sites you desire in the future, not just the one or ones you are starting with now. Here is a link to a site that can help you see what is available.  https://www.namecheckr.com/

When creating fresh relevant content, create your own copy and do not copy other people’s pictures. Take your own photos or use a copyright photo service. It is inexpensive and copyright free.
